This privacy statement has been created in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to protecting customer privacy.
Information Collection
We are the sole owner of the information collected on this website. We collect
information from our users at several different points on our website.
Information We Collect
If you open an account on our website, we need your contact information
including your name, e-mail address and mailing address. We use your purchase
history, contact information and other registration information to send you
information and to otherwise enhance your shopping experience.
When you visit our website, we also collect some basic information that does not identify individual users. We use this information to determine our users’ demographics and interests, so that we can better understand and serve our users.
Cookies
Cookies are small files which store certain information about your activity on
the website and are stored on your computer’s hard drive. Our cookies do not
contain any personally identifying information. We use cookies to let us know
that you are a prior customer, so that you don’t have to reenter information you
gave us on your prior visits. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies,
but most allow you to instruct your browser to prevent the use of cookies.
However, if you disable cookies, you will not be able to use certain features of
this website.
Log Files
Like most standard website servers we use log files. This includes internet
protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP),
referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to
analyze trends, administer the website, track user’s movement in the aggregate,
and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc.
are not linked to personally identifiable information
Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
We sometimes employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web
Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our website by
informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a
unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the
online movements of Web users. The main difference between the two is that clear
gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the
period at the end of this sentence. Clear gifs are not tied to users’ personally
identifiable information.
In addition, we sometimes use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by the recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If users would like to opt-out of these emails, please see the Opt-out section.
Our Use and Disclosure of Your Information
We may send emails to our users announcing special promotions, changes in our
services or other information we believe will be of interest to our users. If
you prefer not to receive email, you will find an opt-out link at the bottom of
our announcement email.
Customer Service
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and
in regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email or phone, in
accordance with the users wishes. We send confirming emails when orders are
placed and to confirm membership changes and subscriptions.
If you send us personal correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if other users or third parties send us correspondence about your activities on our website, we may collect such information. We may use that information and other information that we obtain from your use of our website to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and enforce our agreement for Terms of Use.
Choice/Opt-out
Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional
communications may opt-out of receiving these communications by following the
remove instructions at the end of each such communication. We also offer an
opt-out mechanism on the website or the user may contact the Compliance Officer
at our main address.
Surveys & Contests
From time-to-time our website requests information from users via surveys or
contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and
the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The
requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and
shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code). Contact
information will be used and/or shared with the contest or survey sponsors to
notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for
purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this website.
Users’ personally identifiable information is not shared with third parties
unless we give prior notice and choice. Though we may use an intermediary to
conduct these surveys or contests, they may not use users’ personally
identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
Tell-A-Friend
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our
website, we ask them for the friend’s name and email address. We will
automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the
website. We store this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time
email and tracking the success of our referral program. The friend may contact
our Compliance Officer at the address below to request the removal of this
information from our database.
Chat Rooms, Message Boards, and Public Forums
Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information
online - for example on message boards, through e-mail, or in chat areas - that
information can be collected and used by others. In short, by posting personal
information online that is publicly accessible, you may receive unsolicited
messages from other parties in return.
Legal Disclaimer
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose
personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief
that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a
court order or legal process served on our website.
Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)
We share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers.
This is not linked to any personally identifiable information.
Instances when we will share users’ personal information
We share personal information with parent companies, subsidiaries or affiliated
companies for reasons other than corporate record keeping purposes. Typically
these kinds of sharing arrangements occur when the third party will then own or
control some or all of the customer relationship.
Third Party Intermediaries
For certain products we use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a
credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services.
Service Providers
We contract with third parties to provide specific services. For example, when
the user signs up for subscription services, online courses, or other services,
we share names, email addresses, and other pertinent information that is
necessary for the third party to provide these services. These third parties are
not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of
providing these services.
Business Transitions
In the event we go through a business transition, such as a merger, being
acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users’ personal
information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred
Security
This website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and
alteration of the information under our control.
All user credit card information is securely communicated using secure socket layer (SSL) software, which is the industry standard and among the best software available for secure commerce transactions.
All user information stored on our server is stored in protected form. Notwithstanding these efforts, we caution you that “perfect security” does not exist on the Internet.
Linked websites
If this website contains any links to other websites, we are not responsible for
the privacy practices or the content of such websites.
A Special Note About Children
We do not knowingly solicit data from children, nor do we knowingly market to
children. We require that children under the age of 18 use this service only in
conjunction with their parents or guardians.
Changes to Privacy Statement; Consent
We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. If we decide to change
our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, so our
users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under
what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
If, however, we are going to use users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users by posting a notice on our website for 30 days.
You should check this page periodically for changes. By using our website, you consent to the collection and use of your information by us as described in this Privacy Statement.
